2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet.

Today’s car of the day is the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet. After launching 24 variants of the 997-generation Porsche 911 in seven years, the company introduced the 991-generation car this year, and so is back at the start of the whole process.  Porsche carries over as much as possible from the rear-drive 911 to the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 and 4S models. Engine outputs of 350 and 400 hp and the duo of seven-speed transmissions are unchanged, as are suspension settings. Keen fans of the 911 still will be able to pick out Carrera 4 models by the usual tells: Read more and comment!

Ferrari Museum opens exhibit of Sergio Pininfarina’s work

Automotive designer Sergio Pininfarina passed away in July of this year, but there is every reason to believe that the memory of the vehicles he created will never die. That prediction is bolstered by the fact that he designed more than 100 Ferraris, and that the Ferrari Museum has just put 22 of them on display in Maranello in The Great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina Exhibition. He first put his pen to work for Ferrari with the 1952 Inter Cabriolet. Since then, right through to the F12 Berlinetta, Pininfarina was responsible for a heart-melting procession of cars, which kept the enthusiasts' attention on Maranello, and brought new definitions Read more and comment!

Subaru BRZ STI

Today’s car of the day is the Subaru BRZ STI. Between recent word of a new turbo engine in the works and these latest spy shots, there is no doubt Subaru is working on a faster version of its sporty BRZ coupe. We found these images of an interesting-looking BRZ testing around the Nürburgring that, upon closer inspection, is proudly displaying the STI badges. Right away, we can tell something is special about this car from its aggressive body kit including a front chin spoiler and extended lower side sills. This car is also fitted with 15-spoke wheels that aren't hiding the red STI center caps and help show off Read more and comment!

Thieves stealing Porsche headlamps for grow lights

Well this is something you don't see every day. Thieves in Amsterdam have been preying upon unsuspecting Porsche models recently. That may not be unusual itself, but the burglars are not attempting to make off with the entire car. Rather, they are stealing only the HID headlights. But what's most interesting is the purpose behind snatching just the headlamp assemblies. It is believed that the headlights make for ideal lighting solutions when growing marijuana indoors. The high-intensity discharge bulbs give off more heat and require much less power than standard grow lamps, yet, critically, they offer the right quality of light Read more and comment!

Mercedes executives promise c-class convertible

Mercedes-Benz is already at work on the next-generation C-Class sedan, but the automaker promises to add a convertible model for to the mix as well and will offer it in the US. The new C-Class is expected out next year as a 2014 model, and it will be the first time the C-Class has ever directly offered a drop-top model, likely to be called the C-Class Cabriolet. Previously, the CLK-Class acted as a convertible based on the smaller C-Class, but it was sized and generally thought of as an E-Class model. There are no concrete details about this new car, but it's almost certain to be the most affordable Read more and comment!
