2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI
Today’s car of the day is the 2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI. The Volkswagen Passat is now made in America, Volkswagen built a subsidized factory in Tennessee to manufacture the Passat. For the record, VW is not alone in this. BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota have all taken advantage of similar taxpayer handouts in the U.S. south. The turbocharged, direct-injected, 2.0-liter inline-four is a little stump puller. While only rated at 140 horsepower, it delivers 236 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm and according to the EPA, the Passat TDI earns 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Check out
